Biography

B.Sc. in Social Work at Universidad Industrial de Santander. M.Sc International Cooperation and Humanitarians Issues of Universidad International de Andalucía.  She participated in the Social Work Program and also in the Master in Human Rights. She is a director of Masters in Social Intervention. As a social worker, she has been interested in social processes and human rights in the daily life of human beings. She spent six years working in a rural context between hard army conflicts that affected the rural Colombian population. After that she worked in childhood’s rights regarding social problems such as sexual exploitation, homeless situation, and early pregnancy. In recent years she has been working in the areas of gender, inequality and violence in a rural context and also in the educational system. The current Colombian attempt to finish the army conflict displays the urgent focus on the rural reality and for this reason she has decided to return to rural studies as her priority.

Biography

Professor Luis Ferney Moreno holds a PhD in Law from the Université de Louvain (Belgium), a MA in Law and Economics from the same University and two graduate diplomas, one on Tax Law from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, and the other on regulation of public services from Florida University in the United States. Lawyer from the Universidad Externado in Colombia, he is also the Director of the Department of Mining and Energy Law of the same Institution.

Research Director at Institute of Mining and Energy Law at Universidad Externado de Colombia and professor at the same university. Member of the Academic Advisory Group in the Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL) from the International Bar Association (IBA); Member of the Board of the Colombian Mining and Oil Bar Association. His professional experience has been takes place in the mining and energy industry and as Advisor of public authorities like the National Mining Agency (2015), the Administrative Unit of Public Utilities (UAESP) and the Colombian National Agency of Legal Defense. Biography

Andrea Lehner is a PhD candidate in Environmental Philosophy from the Paris Ouest-Nanterre University. She currently teaches Environmental Ethics, Environmental Philosophy, Philosophy of Technology and several courses on Contemporary Philosophy at the Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá, Colombia. Her recent published work has concentrated mainly on the tensions between man and nature in contemporary ecological thought, and on the necessary paradigm shift in philosophical thought, that is needed to address current environmental problems.

Yuly Andrea Mejía Jerez - Associate Investigator

 

Biography

Social Worker of the Industrial University of Santander (UIS). Currently, she works on research supported by Colciencias and the UIS on the history of the Colombian student movement from the political and ideological understanding of the same in relation to the armed conflict; also she develops studies on the social movements that frame the socio-environmental conflict in the Paramo of Santurbán. She is particularly interested in the study of social movements from gender perspective, the philosophy of contemporary thinking and decolonial theory.

She worked at Fundación Mujer y Futuro in the development of community training projects for young women. She also developed research on the women's movement in Santander, Colombia. She was an assistant of the investigation "Cuerpos vulnerados, cuerpos violentos, narrativas de mujeres en proceso de reintegración en Bucaramanga, Santander" developed by Corporación Descontamina and the Agencia Colombiana para la Reintegración. She has presented several papers in Argentina and Colombia on armed conflict, postconflict, social movements and gender.
